Capt.Clif Mahon

started sailing when he was 15 years old on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Shortly after that, at age 16, he committed his life to Christ and became very active in youth ministry. After graduating from Bible School in 1987 he continued on in youth ministry for over 10 years. It wasn't until 1991 that he realized that the Lord wanted to use his love for sailing to reach young people. Capt. Clif has a passion to see young people discipled into godly leaders with a heart to reach all nations with the Gospel.

Capt. Clif is an ordained minister and full-time staff with MD. He currently holds a USCG 100 Gross Ton Masters License for Sail and Power vessels. His professional experience has had him aboard tugboats up and down the East Coast as well as running boats in the marine construction industry. He has been sailing in the Bahamas since 1994, working with youth from the states and missionaries in the islands.

In 1999, Capt. Clif & Lynn established Maritime Discipleship (MD) in Newport News, Virginia and later moved to Florida to develop the REACH Youth Sailing Club in Tavernier, FL.
Since then MD has replicated the youth sailing Club in the Bamamain Family Island settlement of Black Point, Exuma.

In 2004, MD relocated to Tampa, FL and Mahon's moved as well to continue the working with MD.

Capt. Clif & Lynn have been married since 1999 and have two children and have lived aboard a 36' sailboat, "Sar Shalom" (Prince of Peace) for over 8 years.
