Maritime Discipleship is a result of a dream that was born in the hearts of Captain Clif Mahon and Lynn Foster in 1990. Their vision was to use sailboats as a means to reach young people with the love of Jesus and help them discover God's plans and purposes for their lives.
Although Clif and Lynn were both dreaming and planning to do this type of ministry, they did not meet each other until seven years later. In 1997, they met and began discussing the development of a boat based sail training program for young people.
After much prayer, Clif and Lynn established MD in January 1999 and were married later that year in October. Since then MD has continued to grow and has been impacting the lives of young people who sail aboard an MD vessel as well as the people who live in the islands of the Bahamas.
What started as a vision years ago has developed into a reality.
